Micro Museum is hosting dozens of national artists in a new presentation series called SPECTRUM: THE CHAKRA. This monthly color fest will feature predominant colors in a chakra series on the following dates in 2007: Blue - AUGUST 4 – 28; Indigo - SEPTEMBER 8 – 29; Violet - OCTOBER 6 – 27; Rainbow NOVEMBER 3 – DECEMBER 15.

Each month will feature “The Colorama Series” designed by Kathleen Laziza, founding artist of Micro Museum (MM®), this month highlights DeFacto Dance Company: Plus guest musician Andy Cohen will be collaborating with notable video maker and MM® co-founder William Laziza in a fresh new “Videoscopo” act which is projected onto a 12 foot screen ( 2^nd fl. ) and on an 8 ft screen (1^st fl.) at 8 PM.

Always innovative, MM® a thriving 21 year old living art center on Smith Street created as an incubator to prepare and present formidable art production. MM® represents a pioneering interdisciplinary force collaborating with visual and performance art with a history for promoting media broadcasting. To this day MM® operates a monthly public access TV program in Brooklyn on the local Brooklyn channels called SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION. Home to hundreds of working artists and students - MM® achieved iconic status with journalist Trudy Whitman of Brooklyn Heights Press noting “before Smith Street was Smith Street there was Micro Museum”. Open for professional use weekdays by appointment or to the general public on Saturdays from 12 – 7 PM. Admission required.

Festively, those who come dressed in the color of the monthly theme will receive a free gift! In addition there will be a popular vote throughout the entire series where a single artist from each color category will be invited back in Nov/Dec with a special rainbow celebration on November 3. On that occasion William and Kathleen Laziza will perform one of their signature performance works “MIXOLOGY”. They will continue to present MIXOLOGY on opening Saturdays at 7 PM until December 15.
