Pioneered
in 1986 by William and Kathleen Laziza on the second floor of 123 Smith Street
and expanding itÕs operation in 2002 to the ground floor space of their zany
location, Micro Museum first appreciated by area businesses and neighbors
attracting diverse visitors (mostly international and national) to our events
long before the area was a desirable culinary and retail destination. Micro MuseumÕs loyal client population
travels from Tri-State areas to practice performing arts for audiences around
the world or around the corner (Weekdays 9 AM – 9 PM.) Also a valuable visual art
exhibition hall for USA artists with five thematic shows a year, open every
Saturday from 12 – 7 PM ($2) or online 24/7 at www.micromuseum.biz. Educational field trips and cultural
sightseeing tours are booked randomly throughout the year by visitors from
other boroughs and groups from the USA.
Communication
Director, Marie Beneat says, ÒMicro MuseumÕs diverse artists pledge themselves
to the grassroots public every year by installing continuously inventive art in
the windows for all to see. Plus
there are curated exhibits for the artful curious every week. Now we are hoping for reciprocity by
asking neighbors to join our Annual Friend Raising Campaign. A healthy
neighborhood cannot live by retail alone. We anticipate that our January 10th ÒFriendship Tea PartyÓ will warm donors
up in more ways than one.Ó
