Kathleen Laziza - Artist's Statement

The Spring Fever Collection is an extension of my performance art. I made them to call attention to the attitude that we all have towards our bodies and how we decorate them. I am confronted by the phrase "clothes make the man". So in this case what does frivolous, witty and beautiful jackets covered with flora and fauna mean to us when we put them on. Generally speaking my experience with these jackets is that people find the whimsy infectious and potent. The result of this experiment has led me to build 50 jackets for the fun of wearing art with an attitude
