Statement

These drawings and images are interpretations of concepts- the act of exploring an idea in the various ways they manifest through imagery. Drawings are ideas about things- exploring different aspects about something. A drawing of a subject isn't necessarily about that subject, but can be more about the idea I have about an object. Some things are just useful templates for exploring a broader range of different subjects and feelings. Things and objects that wešre familiar with in our daily lives- or in the culture we live in- can be useful tools, because we already have an innate understanding of what these things are. In the most basic sense, drawings, paintings, writing, photography, poetry and songwriting are ways to talk to each other about ideas and feelings. Artwork comes out of the different things we see all the time, the things that are in the air around us. There are different lives around us, nature, sounds. There are wars going on but people are falling in love too. These things and many more things.
