Since the early 1990's Smith Street was colonized by the French thus making Boerum Hill a cross-pollinated cultural and culinary Mecca. Micro Museum has been at the forefront of bringing worldwide artists to the area to make their performances (theater, dance music) and to exhibit their cutting edge art and media. The NY Times has called Micro Museum "a high tech funhouse" and the Brooklyn Rail hails the resident artists of Micro Museum, William and Kathleen Laziza as "wickedly inventive" . So it is not surprising for world beat percussionists BEAT THE DONKEY to shake, rattle and roll at the museum's annual street party -- "Power to the People" on July 10. Chalk Drawing 10 am - 3 pm Mikella Millen Music begins at 6:00 PM -- gallery exhibits featuring "BLABBERMOUTH by the Lazizas is open from 12 - 6pm
