Open Every Saturday from 12 - 6 PM (exhibits $3, performances $10)William and Kathleen Laziza are known to be "wickedly inventive" as the founding artists of Micro Museum in Downtown Brooklyn. They have been producing eclectic works in 3 distinctive mediums (performance, video, interactive art) since they began working together more than a quarter of the century ago. Celebrating a milestone year with 25 years of marriage, the Laziza's will highlight their interdisciplinary work for the majority of 2005 at their creative oasis, Micro Museum. The schedule below makes room for many performing/media guests and exhibitors in July and October plus plenty of serendipity every Saturday from 12 - 6 PM with video screenings and real time events.
January 7 - February 22
Videoscopo, an interactive media installation where you become "kalidoscopized" in sight and sound.

MIXOLOGY by William and Kathleen Laziza - a live performance featuring interactive media installations: The Videograph , and Invalid TV and real-time projection art. Along with this signature work the Lazizas will air videoart by Laziza Electrique Dance Co. Reservations appreciated. (718) 797-3116
February 1 - April 1
The Kissing Installation, an interactive eccentric gym where images of Brooklynites blow kisses at you while you exercise with nature. Weighing-In is known as "the talking chair".

The Silver Anniversary Special Event
The Lazizas will perform WHICHEVER WHICH WAY..... YOU SEND ME, a non-linear narrative of their worldwide travels on March 19 by special admission. See website for details www.micromuseum.com

The Big Chair and the Spring Fever Collection with photo ops of yourself sitting on The Big Chair - an 8 foot wooden chair, (must be able to climb a ladder, and the chair has some weight restrictions) or wearing one of 35 flowered jackets a/k/a the Spring Fever Collection by Kathleen Laziza. Plus spontaneous special events, performance and video screenings every Saturday.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE BLOCK PARTY as a part of the Bastille Day Festivities on Smith Street with guest performers, happenings, and lots of optical entertainment.... more TBA. The day long event will include screenings, performances interactive art exhibitions and more. Come eat and play on Smith Street from Noon - 10 PM (Day Pass to Micro Museum $10)

Premiere
-- Blabbermouth a/k/a "the talking door" will utilize the entrance of Micro Museum as a sound portal. This exhibit will also include Phone-i-ture and 3d TV - 2 installations that are usually tucked in our VIP Room --- as they get a chance to stretch out along with Weighing In, the "talking chair". Also highlighting The Pond Effect - a reflective window display.October 20 - November 1
The Haunted Maze and Gala Party... guests, date & time TBA to include Pursuit of Happenstance - a live performance by William and Kathleen Laziza with original music by Bradford Reed. Plus random airing of SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION - a public access community arts series collection 1984 - 2004 every Saturday

Saturday Listening Parties with The Prepared Victrola - events utilizing the extensive 78 RPM record collection that Micro Museum received from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Listen to some of the world's greatest philharmonic music.
Micro Museum is the Lazizas' 12 year old brainchild. This center of serendipity is available to 600 professional art makers every year as they present or create their work. Originally designed to be a space for unpredictable artistic synergy - it doubled its size in 2002 and now has the ability to present visual work to the public, in addition, live performances on the ground floor. This 25th silver year will be filled with events originated by the founding artists of Micro Museum, William and Kathleen Laziza. For the first time these "industrial strength" artists will occupy the ground floor exhibit space with their interdisciplinary art works for the majority of the year. William Laziza is a telecommunications engineer by day and an artist/father by night. He is avid about recycling and has developed over 30 visual instruments that create altered images in a real time setting as well as having keep tons of electronics out of the landfill. William's art expresses ingenious function like Phone-i-ture, a love seat where you can telephone the person sitting next to you - or- creating virtual environments for cyber with the latest R & D methods then broadcasting them live around the region and world. Over the years he has perfected the role of resident wizard at Micro Museum.
Kathleen Laziza is a choreographer who worked with Hanya Holm, Alwin Nikolas and Erick Hawkins. She is a dedicated advocate of 21st century artforms that blend the personal with the political to create leading edge art. She is an idea maven who aspires to inspire kids of all ages. Her wearable art or interactive sculptures both demonstrate connectivity through her own twisted sense of performance art. She is comfortable creating with unlikely elements like having a Scottish bagpiper rowed through Prospect Park waterways, as she is with art direction and kazari.

By Car: Travel straight off the Brooklyn Bridge, past Atlantic Ave. Left on Dean and left on Smith street
By Subway: "F" and "G" to Bergen street - walk the same direction as traffic, less than 2 blocks from station
By Bus: B 75 or B71 to Dean street on Smith street.
