Born in Havana, Cuba, 24 year old Sandro Guerra Garcia moved to New York from the Dominican Republic in 2001 to study fine arts at Parsons School of Design in New York on a Charles Bluhdorn Scholarship, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

EXPRESSIONS is his first presentation in Brooklyn at Micro Museum, 123 Smith Street, which has been "beguiling visitors with its interactive video displays, computer games, audio tricks and special effects." (Time Out NY) Guerra Garcia masterful contemporary oil paintings are moody while the canvases utilize a dark palette. Each luminous portrait's atmosphere is unique to the personality of the sitter; evoking attitude and emotion. His craftsmanship is mature and developed beyond his years.

As well as the Charles Bluhdorn Scholarship, in 2004, Mr. Guerra Garcia received a Fellowship from the Cuban Artist Fund to participate in the Vermont Studio Center Artist in Residency Program. In 2000, he won second prize in the Kiti International Design Competition in Korea.  He has also done Theater Design for 2 productions of the Ballet Clasico de Santiago. Guerra Garcia is represented by Juliette Pelletier in North American, and JayKay Gallery in Lausanne, Switzerland who discovered his talent while still an undergraduate.  Mr. Guerra Garcia has shown in Miami Beach, New York, the Dominican Republic, Korea and Switzerland, his works are also part of private collections world-wide.
