Look for "Spontaneous Combustion" with excerpts from this event on Brooklyn Community Access TV May 15 at 2:30 PM. Spontaneous Combustion is funded, in part, by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, through Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, NYC Council Member David Yassky and the NYC Council's Brooklyn Delegation. About the Artists:

Patricia Hoffbauer and George Emilio Sanchez

The essential core of Hoffbauer/Sanchez's collaboration lie in excavating the challenges and opportunities that become apparent when melding the distinct worlds of movement and words. Their pieces have ranged in themes but remain constant in their determination to find a performance language that directly addresses the world outside the studio. Their themes have varied from de-constructing media representation; examining historical/cultural references; to intimate investigations of personal spheres.

William and Kathleen Laziza

Founding Artists of Micro Museum, these two zany artists are exhibiting their permanent collection of interactive sculptures and video art. They have been developing signature works since the late 1970's. Usually they use found materials, electronic gadgetry and video post-production in their works that are friendly, touch sensitive or sound responsive. Philosophically they represent a cutting edge that defies category. You can see more of their works at www.micromuseum.com or drop into Micro Museum any Saturday for guest artists as well as their own work in the notable "VIP Room".

Cynthia Bruckman

Playwright, poet and actor Cynthia Bruckman recently performed her poetry at BAX, Cinema Classics, and Spoke the Hub. She is the recipient of awards and grants (including the Brooklyn Arts Council), and her plays have been produced at HERE for the American Living Room Festival, at SoHo Rep for the New York International Fringe Festival, and at Sunny's Red Hook Yacht and Kayak Club. She teaches for Enter Stage Write, an after-school acting and playwriting program for children. She is currently working on a book of poetry. When she's not writing, she can be seen on Brooklyn's mean streets training for her first half marathon.
