Contemporary Latino Visual Artists
February 2 - March 16 Open Saturdays 12 - 6 PM Free
Featuring:
Enrique Flores-Galbis - Cuba
Alfredo Cardenas - Mexico/Brooklyn
Angel Cruz - Puerto Rico
Micro Museum will feature the diverse contemporary works of three Latino visual artists from Feb 2 - March 16. This exhibit will highlight the works of Enrique Flores-Galbis, a recognized commercial portraitist born in Havana, Cuba and professional teaching artist at Parsons School of Design; Alfredo Cardenas, an accomplished sculptor with roots from Brooklyn whose education took him to Italy to study stone carving and bronze works in the 1980s; and Angel Cruz, a visual artist born in Santurance, Puerto Rico who grew up in NYC and later studied early childhood education and art at Brooklyn College.
Micro Museum welcomes these exhibiting artists whose careers have been orbiting one another for many years. Micro Museum is particularly interested in the collaborative nature of modern artists, how collaboration is felt and what results occur from its association. Mr. Flores-Galbis will present works from his non-portrait collection. Mr. Cardenas will display his craftmanship and grace with stone. Mr. Cruz paintings are a fusion of non-traditional painting methods.
Micro Museum is open to the public free of charge on Saturdays from 12 - 6 PM and available for guided tours weekdays by appointment and for admission. It is located on trendy Smith Street --- 123 Smith ----- close to the F & G trains at Bergen Street.
