About the Artist
J. T. (pseudonym name) was born in 1973 in Tallinn, Estonia. She graduated from the prestigious Estonia Art School, where she completed a specialized 10-year curriculum. She also successfully completed the Tashkent State University of Economics. Upon graduation she traveled around the world, visiting Berlin, Venice, Rome, Paris, Brussels, Copenhagen and many others. It wasnt until 1999, upon her arrival in New York City, that J. T. felt as if she has found home. When she was 14, she saw with her mother an unidentified flying object, which had a profound impact on her drawing style. The airborne lights have drawn the sign of infinity on the sky, which she believes to be a method of future communication, between humans and extraterrestrial. Later her art was further influenced by the mystical teachings of Carlos Castaneda. One of the most striking novelties she introduces is convex area on her paintings, rendering them to become partially three-dimensional. J. T. views her artwork as a new form of communication, crossing barriers of language, culture and handicap. She hopes that her paintings will in the future become the basis of multi-dimensional dialogue.
Her paintings have been exhibited in several museums in Central Asia, as well as galleries in New York. J.T.s work is in the permanent collections of five museums in Tashkent, Bishkek and Almaty. Many of her paintings currently grace the walls of some of the most exclusive and discerning private and public collections (Embassy of USA, George Soros Foundations, and Ministry of Culture, Academy of Art) in Europe, Scandinavia, Central Asia and the United States.
